Underwater, we are all equal. A person with physical or mental injuries looks the same as everyone else when in scuba gear. This gives a sense of confidence and realization that the struggles on land may not exist the same way under water.

Breathing and imagery can help with anxiety, depression and chronic pain. Divers can focus on the present by listening to their own breathing through the regulator, comparing it to a meditative state while enjoying the silence of the underwater environment. These strategies can then be used out of the water. Reduce stress and anxiety with our guided meditation in Scubapeutics® . Our experienced instructors will teach you techniques to calm your mind and increase overall well-being.
Join a community of like-minded individuals and get healthy together! Scuba diving is an activity based on a buddy system and is an inclusive activity that makes developing relationships easy. Life long friends, bonding time with family and friends are guaranteed side effects of Scubapeutics® .

A single Scubapeutics® Session in a pool will provide multiple benefits. Activities like rehabilitative exercises, resistance training, team building obstacle courses, yoga and meditation ...all done underwater; providing multiple benefits to physical, mental and social health.

Yes! Scubapeutics® is for everyone! The program is designed to promote health and well-being through scuba diving activities, safely in a pool. Suitable for all individuals regardless of abilities, physical and mental.
Absolutely. Each participant may have different needs and sessions may be individualized or conducted for an entire family. We offer private, semi private and group sessions. Under the Surface can also collaborate with allied healthcare professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists and recreational therapists to develop underwater activities that will support your rehabilitation!
Maybe. Everyone who wants to scuba dive needs to fill out a medical questionnaire and possibly have it signed by a doctor to ensure the experience will be safe. You should be clear with your doctor that Scubapeutics® are conducted in a pool, and that medical clearance for open water diving may differ.
